Joy is a multifaceted musician – singer, songwriter, violinist and collaborator - who has received acclaim on both the contemporary folk and classical scenes as a musician with depth and unique insight; her songs have been described as 'word paintings' and her musicianship as a violinist 'something you can't teach'.
Classically trained in the North of England and with a love of folk and world music, she explored Manchester's rich alternative music scene alongside her performance degree in violin at the Royal Northern College of Music. From performing internationally as a singer-songwriter, to collaborative crossover projects and exploring the more unusual side of chamber music with the Florian string quartet, Joy is as at home performing her own music at festivals and venues, leading an orchestra or touring with bands.
Joy's upcoming EP 'From Within' is due for release later this year. She loves cooking, Joni Mithchell and travelling in her self-converted Sprinter van, Mary where she lives full-time.
